Our Rooms

Acorn Childcare is set in a lovely old Edwardian town house with a modern bungalow annexe, only minutes away from the town centre of Spalding.  We welcome children from 3 months to 12 years to our home-from-home setting,  We provide designated areas for different age groups, plus lots of shared play areas including some enchanting outdoor spaces.
Babies (from 3 months) are based in the tranquil atmosphere of our Little Hedgehogs Room often using the main Sitting Room for their rumpus room when they are learning new physical skills such as rolling, crawling, cruising and taking their first steps.  Little Hedgehogs take their naps upstairs in the main house, one step away from the hustle and bustle of downstairs.

Little Rabbits inhabit the Play Room and Gruffalo Room, where they discover the joy of free flow into the garden and outdoor spaces, learn important life lessons such as fair play, sharing and taking turns and experience the adventure, challenge and triumphs of being two.  Little Rabbits needing a nap settle into tiny camp-beds in the quieter downstairs rooms, drifting to sleep to gentle classical music and waking when their little batteries are fully rechargedWebsite photos 018
By a child’s third birthday, each Little Rabbit will be making their transition to Little Badger status, accessing their Early Years Education funded spaces and sharing their days with those children who have joined us for our pre-school experience.
In time, our Senior Badgers prepare for their transition to Primary School and once they become “Schoolie Squirrels” they are welcome to join us and any siblings for Holiday, Breakfast and After School Clubs (we run a walking bus service to and from three local primary schools).
Our staff team are dedicated professionals whose individual strengths and interests greatly extend the learning opportunities available at Acorns in subjects as diverse as gymnastics and gardening, natural science and orienteering!
